Her story

Beyond the boxes others put us in.

Brittney spent more than a decade in foster care. She turned the suitcase she once carried into a symbol of dignity for young people making the transition out of care.

An author and season-two cast member of Traveling the Spectrum, she speaks about belonging, being autistic and the freedom to experience the world on her own terms.

ADVOCATEEvery story belongs.
01 / A Suitcase and a Dream

Belonging begins somewhere.

A Suitcase and a Dream supports young people moving through foster care and the transition beyond it. Its work gives children entering care suitcases with essentials and comfort items, while lifting up youth voices through mentorship and advocacy. Explore the organization and the ways to support its mission.

02 / Neurodiversity

Seen on her own terms.

Brittney speaks from her own experience of being autistic and asks people to see more than a label. Through Brit Beyond the Spectrum, she keeps the conversation on acceptance and inclusion: making room for neurodivergent people to be heard and to belong on their own terms.

03 / Accessible travel

Make room for the journey.

As a season-two cast member of Traveling the Spectrum, Brittney brings her own perspective to travel and belonging. Her story adds to a wider conversation about making travel more welcoming and accessible, including for autistic travelers and their families.
